Chad Pregracke, 2013 CNN Hero of the Year and author of From the Bottom Up: One Man’s Crusade to Clean America’s Rivers. Chad is a motivational speaker that started his clean-up of the Mississippi River when he was 17 years old. After 8 million pounds of garbage removed, Chad is proof that one person can make a difference. Chad’s book is available for purchase and signing after presentation.

Sustainnovate Conference and Expo: Water in the West

Join us for an exciting day to learn, connect and act on the topic of water, our most precious natural resource. We will have experts from across the state to address topics such as climate change and Colorado water, recreation, hydraulic fracturing and drinking water, tribal water law and Standing Rock, Colorado water plan, the energy/water nexus, water contamination and Venetucci Farm, and water conservation practices. Local organizations will join this year’s Expo to share projects and potential internship opportunities for students.

Lunch will be provided to registered participants by UCCS Food Next Door. There will be a Sustainabrew Hoppy Hour and local whiskey tasting and expo from 5:00pm-7:00pm. We will finish the day with a presentation from professional snowboarder Jake Black from the Protect Our Winters Riders Alliance.
